Львівська область

Львівська область знаходиться на крайньому заході України. На заході Львівської області проходить державний кордон України з Республікою Польща. Крім того, регіон межує з Тернопільською, Івано-Франківською, Волинською, Рівненською і Закарпатською областями України. Чисельність населення області - близько 2,75 млн. осіб.

Адміністративний центр – Львів. Територія області поділена на 20 районів і 9 міст обласного значення, 34 селища міського типу й понад 1850 сільських населених пунктів. Найбільші міста – Львів, Дрогобич, Червоноград, Стрий, Борислав, Самбір.

Область відома, як одне з найкращих в Україні місць рекреації та туризму. Зоною рекреації та туризму є південь області, територія Українських Карпат та Прикарпаття, де розміщені відомі курорти Трускавець, Моршин, Східниця. Найбільшими центрами пізнавального туризму є Львів та інші старовинні міста з історико-архітектурними пам'ятками: Жовква, Дорогобич, Городок, Самбір, Золочів. Великою популярністю серед туристів користуються замкові фортифікації Львівщини, а саме Олеський, Золочівський, Підгорецький, Свірзький замки, які об’єднуються у найпопулярніший туристичний маршрут «Золота підкова Львівщини».

Найвідомішими музеями є Національний музей, Музей-заповідник "Личаківський цвинтар", Львівський історичний музей, Львівська державна картинна галерея, Музей народної архітектури та побуту України, музей етнографії та художнього промислу, літературно-меморіальний музей І. Франка.
